| Reproductive activity mainly performance by the mating behaviors which is the most important part of mammalian’s life. Study of animal mating behaviors has been the passionate subject. Explore the relationship between gonadal hormones and sexual behaviors are important content in study of animal reproductive behavior. In order to understand the relationship between gonadal hormones and reproductive behavior in primates, Mating behavior in two one male units (OMU) were collected using focal animal sampling and all-occurrence recording, and fecal sample of all focus individuals were collected from September 17,2013 to December 31,2013 and April 1,2014 to May 31,2014 the two periods. We used Enzyme-linked immunoassays (EIISA) to measure the estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) of females golden snub-nosed monkey, the testosterone (T) of OMU resident male. Discuss the different reproductive strategies of male and female within OMU. Meanwhile, we evaluated the relationship between E2, P and the menstrual cycle. In addition, we investigated the factors that would influence on male hormones changes. We conclude that:1. By measuring fecal estradiol can monitoring the menstrual cycle and pregnancy for females. Fecal progesterone changes presence characteristic of individuals, cannot be used as an index to estimate menstrual cycle and pregnancy in golden snub-nosed monkey.2. In the one-male units, part of the females’ovulation cycle are synchronous, but the conception date of birth are separate. Females golden snub-nosed monkey reduces the intension of reproductive competence via the separation of conception time and give birth once every two years.3. In order to improve the pregnancy chances, OMU resident male mated multiple times with females who will give birth next year. To ensure future generations breeding and maintain OUM stable, resident male may be distribute mating behaviors and sperms reasonably.4. We suggest that individual character, infant’s birth and social factors may contribute to high secretion of testosterone resident male. The emergence of peak testosterone concentration is not only function of females’ conception.5.In the early stage of establish a new unit, resident male may high frequently copulate with females within OMU for establish or cement reproductive relationship. When the unit changes or disbands, adult females through multiple migrations to select appropriate unit, so as to change the current reproductive status. |
