The Wave Spectrometer is a new sensor used to measure the directional spectrumof the ocean waves by means of a real aperture radar which is looking at angles nearthe vertical, and scanning over360°in azimuth. The instrument will provide globallong time observation of the wave directional spectra, and it will help us betterunderstanding of the sea surface wave dynamic process and change process andprovide Marine forecasting wave spectrum of many parameters such as initial quantityinformation, improve the sea condition prediction model and assimilation. This thesisfocuses on the wave spectrometer data processing technology.(1) The data of STORM begins processing from the raw power data to get theone-dimensional wave spectrum and two-dimensional wave spectra. Achieve a wholewave spectrum inversion of technical processes, while the inversion results werecompared with the measured buoy data, results showed st2-21-08data inversion ofwave spectrum either the main wavelength or the significant wave height are relativelyclose to the measured data, the significant wave height deviation was8.5%, the mainwavelength deviation of8.1%. Meanwhile wave spectrometer data processing of basicparameters (the average number of range bins, the average number of blocs, theaverage number of circles) were changed to explore the impact on the inversion resultsand draw this inversion of airborne data the average processing optimal combinationof parameters as follows: the average number of range bins:12, bloc average number:5, the average number of circles:3;(2) Contrast the instrument parameters of the STROM and domestic airbornewave spectrometer, differences were found between them. Based on data processing ofthe STORM, domestic airborne wave spectrometer data were processed and obtainedtwo-dimensional wave spectrum successfully. It is further validate the feasibility wavespectrum inversion principle and wave spectrometer data processing technology;(3) Combined with the Spaceborne wave spectrometer’s specific parameters, this paper analyzes similarities and differences between the airborne wave spectrometerand spaceborne spectrometer. In the basic of wave spectrum inversion principles anddata processing technology of airborne wave spectrometer, this paper preliminaryintroduced spaceborne wave spectrometer data processing technology, and theparameters of average processing were discussed.
