Study Of Directional Wave Spectrum From SAR Image Using Hasselmann's Method

The theory, methodology and software for the retrieval of ocean wave spectrum from satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images using Hasselmann's method are introduced in this thesis. The validation in the China Seas is carried out. The first guess spectrum, the wind data necessary for deriving the guess spectrum, the pre-processing of SAR images and the influence of the radar channels, which are involved in the retrieval, are discussed. The ORSI-SAR-OW software is updated.
