Published in1942, Merton’s theory of science and democracy, clearly put forward that science is a unique social system, and from the perspective of function analysis, summarizes the regulatory structure of the elements (four specifications of the system must be--ulliversalism、communalism、disinterestedness、organized skepticism--constitutes the essence of modern science) and its significance.In an era of rapid economic development, living in a market economy in this environment, people began to interests first, scientists are no exception. Scientists are beginning to fame and fortune, there has been fraud and pseudo-scientific phenomena. Some scholars believe that " disinterestedness " has no meaning, should be abandoned. However, scientific spirit as the throughout and dominate nature, adapt and change the natural human knowledge activities has always been the development of science and technology activities, its connotation should be continuously development, improve and enrich, instead of simply abandoning. We can only for science ethics rational reconstruction, to revitalize the scientific spirit, to restore the true nature of scientific research.This paper includes three parts:In the first chapter, the interpretation of " disinterestedness ", from its background, connotation, value and significance, its purpose is to a macroscopic grasp " disinterestedness ";In the second chapter,again from its origin and the dilemmas facing from the macroscopic and microscopic analysis of the root causes of anomie behavior and effect of the scientific community and the specific deviant behavior both at home and abroad, set out to find out the plight of " disinterestedness "; In the third chapter, try to put forward the mess without " disinterestedness ", including:the characteristics of postmodern science; At the same time of pursuing, make contributions to the interests of the whole human; Set up open platform; And the integration of incentive system; To strengthen the government’s supervision of science.
