The Study Of ATC Spare Parts Inventory Management

With the rapid development of the civil aviation of China , the Air Traffic Control (ATC)equipments become more and more advanced, and play a more important role for the flight safety. As the ATC equipments need extreme high normal operation rate, and spare parts is an important part of the equipment management. So reasonable inventory and reliable service of spare parts is very important for the ATC equipment operation as well as the flight safety. This thesis covers six chapters through which it explores and demonstrates how to manage the ATC equipment spare parts inventory.In the first chapter it mainly introduces the general situation of the ATC equipment as well as the current situation and features of the ATC spare parts inventory management. It digs out the issues about the ATC spare parts inventory management. At the end of this chapter , it elaborates the focal points of this thesis and the objective of this study.In the second chapter it focuses to introduce the modern inventory management theory, the concept and content of the spare parts inventory. And then it introduces how important it is for the equipment operation and the main method of the spare part management used in the developed country. At the end of this chapter, it analyses the characteristics of the ATC spare parts management.The third and fourth chapters are the core sections in the thesis. At first, at the basis of ABC classification, it promotes an improved spare parts classification---Synthetically classification model. As to the key factor of this model—the important level of the spare parts, they confirm assess index first, then weigh this index by AHP classification and finally calculate it by grey synthetically assess model. And then it predicts the demand of the ATC spare parts based on the Poisson distribution, and decides the amount of storage of spare parts according to the demand of the service level. Since the spare parts demand is stochastic, the mathematical statistic method is applied to decide the safe amount of spare parts inventory which can meet the service level required.The fifth chapter is to analyze the ATC spare parts inventory management. Based on Supply Chain Management theory, there are two kinds of ATC spare parts management model, Vendor Managed Inventory and Joint Managed Inventory.The last chapter is the conclusion of this thesis and give some comments and thoughts through this study presented.
