International business negotiation is a kind of cross-cultural communication, itis a business activities that person with different cultural backgrounds achieveinterests which are beneficial to each other. Today is economic globalization; thecontacts are increasingly frequent in the countries, not only in such aspects aspolitics, economy, science and technology, but also in the performance of the culturalexchange and fusion. World cultural conflict made cultural differences become aninevitable problem in the international business activities. Along with thedevelopment of economy in our country, the national comprehensive strength hasincreased, China has become the world’s countries’ scrambling investment place, andall of them hope to become partners with China. Different countries, nationalities,cultural background, we should have enough confidence and determination to copewith the effects of cultural differences. We need to know and study values and waysof thinking under the different cultural, which can solve the cultural conflict, toachieve the interests of the win-win situation.First, the article reviewed the Chinese and overseas scholars’ articles related thecultural impacting on international business activities. To clarify the meaning andpurpose of the issue discussed.Second, the author mainly analyzes the reasons of the existence of culturaldifferences. Among the main bodies, communication style is different, concept oftime is different, cultural values is different, the cultural differences also exist inmanagement and operation of enterprises, local customs and habits are different, allthese reflect the reasons of the existence of cultural differences. Third, Combined with the cases, the author analyzes the influence of theexistence of cultural differences on international business negotiations from fiveaspects such as negotiation style, negotiation organization, negotiation process, theresults of the negotiations, the negotiations strategy.Finally, corresponding strategy analyses are given by the author from twoaspects of general skills and suggestions about cultural differences strategy. Generalskills, including the preparation before negotiations and conquer of the obstacles ofcommunication. In the process of communication with other cultures, pay attentionto differences in verbal and nonverbal, keep learning and enrich ourselves, beforeeach negotiation prepare fully to make non-panic. Strategies for the culturaldifferences include avoiding the phenomenon of culture shock, learning andrespecting the cultural differences and properly handle problems in negotiations, docultural exchanges after negotiations.
