At present, China is in a stage of rapid development of urbanization, farmlandutilization is also undergoing tremendous changes. Enhance the level of intensive useof farmland is an important way to get enough food, and is also the important way toachieve urbanization and farmland protection in the background of decliningfarmland. The intensive use of farmland has an important significance to achieve theChina’s new urbanization.Urbanization and the intensive use of arable landinterrelated and mutual restraint, coordinated development degree of urbanization andthe intensive use of arable land determines the level of urbanization and the outputlevels of arable land. The287municipalities and districts is the object of study in thispaper. This paper has constructedthe evaluation index system of urbanization and theIntensive use of arable land, and used statistical analysis and coupling model to revealthe relationship between urbanization and the Intensive use of arable land. This paperpresents some conclusions and recommendationsthatpromote urbanization and theintensive use of arable land.Ⅰ.Large-scale population concentration can bring the overall development ofurbanization. The city economy has a great role in prompting the development ofurbanization level. There is no obvious effect of urbanization on land to raise the totalurbanization. The social urbanization mature, the urbanization is also mature.Ⅱ.The level of intensive use of arable land is quite different in china. The scoreof the best city is16times the score of the worst city.Higher degree of the level ofintensive use of arable land is in the North China,Central China,East China andSouthern China. The intensive use of land must be supported by high land investmentintensity.Ⅲ. After correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis, we can determinedthat Input intensity and the total cultivated land intensive degree positive correlatewith population urbanization, economic urbanization, land urbanization and theoverall level of urbanization. But there is no linear relationship. It means that the promotion ofpopulation urbanization, economic urbanization, land urbanization andthe overall level of urbanization brings the promotion of Input intensity and the totalcultivated land intensive degree. And there’s no apparentcorrelation between Inputintensity and Social Urbanization. So is the total cultivated land intensive degree.Ⅳ. From the spatial distribution,The North China, Yangtze River Delta, thePearl River Delta region are always in the phase of coupling coordination well. Theseregions are characterized by urbanization high level, strong economic fundamentalsand high degree of development. Northeast, northwest, central China and southwestarea are in the phase of coupling coordination poor. Gguangzhou, beijing andshanghai urbanization and the intensive utilization of cultivated land developmentlevel was relatively high. The development of urbanization strongly promotesfarmland intensive utilization in these cities. The Economic Urbanization andurbanization of land for intensive use of cultivated land showed a significantimproving effect.
