Generally speaking, infrastructure has a close relationship with economic development. The infrastructure development plays an important role in economic development and social progress for ASEAN countries and regions. Its economic effects mainly show on these aspects:promoting economic growth, enhancing international competitiveness, reducing poverty and promoting regional economic integration.Through learning and absorbing the development economics theories and methods about infrastructure and economic development, and taking the infrastructure development in ASEAN countries as the main line,this article describes the status and characteristics of national and regional infrastructure development, analyzes the methods and problems of financing in these infrastructure projects, explores the influence of infrastructure on promoting economic growth, enhancing international competitiveness, reducing poverty and promoting regional economic integration, and proposes the recommendations on China-ASEAN Regional Policy in the field of infrastructure cooperation. Chapter three is the status quo of infrastructure development in ASEAN countries. It describes the history of ASEAN infrastructure development briefly, and analyzes and compares the development of transport, energy, electricity and communications in these countries. At the same time, it explores the recent major national infrastructure plan and ASEAN infrastructure interoperability strategy. Chapter four is the infrastructure financing of ASEAN countries. According to the national infrastructure plan and the ASEAN connectivity strategy, it analyzes the infrastructure projects and problems of financing. Chapter five is the economic effects of ASEAN infrastructure. It demonstrates the economic effects of these national infrastructure constructions, and reveals the correlation between the infrastructure and economic development. Chapter six is the conclusion.
