| Myanmar,Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia are the last four countries to join ASEAN.They are called the ASEAN New Four Countries because of their similar geographical structure,religious culture and economic development level.In recent years,due to the rapid economic development of the new ASEAN countries,it is inevitable that the new ASEAN countries will be placed in a more important position for further study.The influence of economic globalization has become more and more far-reaching.In order to comply with the development trend,China has introduced the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” initiative(hereinafter referred to as the “Belt and Road Initiative”).Since the implementation of the “Belt and Road Initiative”,the economic and trade cooperation between China and the ASEAN New Four countries has become closer and closer.However,due to the backwardness of infrastructure in the ASEAN New Four countries,the strong momentum of economic development has been restricted.The governments of the four new ASEAN countries are aware of the importance of infrastructure construction and have introduced a series of policies,which have brought new development opportunities to many enterprises in China.This article will study China’s direct investment strategy for infrastructure construction in the four new ASEAN countries under the “Belt and Road Initiative” initiative.The second chapter of this paper introduces the status quo of infrastructure construction of the four new ASEAN countries and China’s direct investment in the infrastructure construction of the four new ASEAN countries.It understands the backwardness of the transportation infrastructure in the four new ASEAN countries,as well as the shortcomings in communication and power.The impact of this analysis;the third chapter is based on the variables used to measure the potential index published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development(hereinafter referred to as UNCTAD),based on the availability of variable data from the ASEAN New Four countries.And the actual situation,the original variables are adjusted.Then construct the principal component analysis model,measure the potential index of the new ASEAN countries and the performance index of China’s direct investment in the four new ASEAN countries,and conduct scientific analysis on the ASEAN New Four countries through the calculation results of the potential index and the performance index.The results show that the potential index and performance index of the four new ASEAN countries have improved,indicating that the implementation of the “Belt and Road Initiative” has played a good role in promoting the introduction of foreign direct investment by the ASEAN New Four countries.The fourth chapter uses SWOT analysis to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of China’s direct investment in infrastructure construction in the four new ASEAN countries and the potential opportunities and challenges.Finally,based on the results of the previous analysis,the corresponding policy recommendations and strategic recommendations are proposed.It is hoped that the relevant governments at all levels in China will formulate relevant strategies and provide assistance for enterprises to invest in infrastructure in the ASEAN New Four countries. |
