| Innovation is the core drive of enterprises’ survival and development, especially in the increasingly competitive global economy and changeable technology-market environment, the only way to satisfy the increasingly changing market demand and obtain continuous competition advantages is continuous innovation. In the process of transition to the innovation-driven economy, Chinese enterprises as the innovative subject undertake an important mission. To enhance the innovation performance of new products become practical problems which the enterprise needs to solve.Many Studies show that corporate entrepreneurship whose main characteristics are innovation and change has been proved to be an important mean to effectively cope with the changing environment, overcome path dependence and obtain sustainable competitive advantage for it can bind the relationship between product technology and market innovation and is one of the important factors that drive product innovation. But the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship and new product innovation performance can be influenced by many other variables especially environmental uncertainty. Chinese enterprises which are in the period of economic transition need to pay more attention to how to carry out effective organization design to shape and stimulate corporate entrepreneurship in order to realize new product innovation.Based on the theory of corporate entrepreneurship, we investigate the effect on product innovation performance of five commonly-acknowledged organizational antecedents of corporate entrepreneurship named as management support, work discretion/autonomy, rewards/reinforcements, time availability and organizational boundaries, and the moderating role of environment uncertainty on the relationship between the above two through225high-tech firms in Anhui and Zhejiang province from the perspective of organizational design. Results indicate that(1) Corporate Entrepreneurship is important to promote and support product innovation performance;(2)Only three of the five antecedents to corporate entrepreneurship have main effects on product innovation performance with moderate significance;(3) Two of the five antecedents significantly interacts with environment uncertainty in different directions and thereby, influence product innovation performance. The managerial implications of these results are discussed. |
