A Study On The Supplier Management System Design Of Foxconn HWT

At present, the development of world consumer industry is undergoing an ever-changing process, and plenty of research on it has purposed to reorient it. However, for each country consumer industry is still the pillar one for the national economy, measuring the level of development of a country.(Under a bran-new and more competitive market environment,) manufacturers of consumer products outsource their non-core parts, which advances their core competition. With the continuous development of business and expansion of scale of company, supplier management has become one pivotal issue, which develops from former simple material management to the present vertical management. Overall level of suppliers will directly affects the quality, cost, delivery, flexible service of the product, etc in the supply chain, which affects the ultimate customer satisfaction. Therefore, improving supplier management systems for introducing and developing new suppliers is becoming more and more concerned, especially systems of cost-down, supplier service quality control, and the efficiency and performance of the entire supply chain. It is establishing a scientific and reasonable supplier management system to accurately evaluate and select qualified suppliers, and then establishing a good strategic partnership to enhance company competition ability that become the hot topic undertaken in the study on supply chain management.Along with conglomerate merger, HWT, a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group, has absorbed many new members. Whereas management modes of new members are not all identical, thus, there a need to change the supplier management mode of HWT to meet requirements of parent company--Foxconn and its customer’s needs. In brief, the supplier management system redesign as a focus of work is put on the agenda.Based on previous research, the present paper describes the emergence and development of supply chain and supplier management, and analyzes the characteristics and significance of supplier management system. Moreover, the research proposes a new design for HWT’s supplier management system based on its problems of current supplier management. Such design expounds core issues of supplier management system in detail, such as the selection, evaluation and development of suppliers, conforming to the development of HWT management system,raising the level of supply chain management, and improving its market competitiveness comprehensively. Furthermore, the implementation and control scheme of supplier management system are put forward for HWT, and possible problems and solution in the course of the implementation are also discussed.
