Chongqing, located in southwest of China, is one of the most important municipalities of our country and is also the demonstration area of Coordinative Development of Urban-rural Area. With the development of Chongqing’s society, the contradiction of supply and demand of agricultural products is increasingly prominent, especially on gaps of some agricultural products. It threatened the ecological security of agriculture and hindered the sustainable development of Chongqing. Now most of researchers evaluate the sustainable development level of certain areas with the Ecological Footprint Model from the time series point of view rather than that from spacial series.Using some relative statistical data and department data, this article calculate the food footprints and food capacity of Chongqing during the year2003to2012with Food Ecological Footprint Model based on the Ecological Footprint Model to get the food ecological carrying rate in order to evaluate and analyze the agricultural structure from the supply and demand balance point of view and put forward targeted policy and suggestion. Using the Markov method to analyze the spacial evolution of the main agricultural products’ productivity of Chongqing from the county level to find out the best producing areas of different products and provide theoretical foundation for differentiated development of Chongqing’s agriculture. This article is made up of8chapters. The head three chapters have introduced the research frameword, theoretical foundation and the overview of Chongqing Municipality while the others have stated the main content of the article. The forth chapter evaluate and analyze the food footprints and capacity of Chongqing during the year2003-2012quantificationally by Food Ecological Footprint Model. In the study period, the footprints of Chongqing have showed a downward trend from2.43×106hm2in2003to2.38×106hm2in2012, but different products differ from each other. During the study period, pork has had a proportion of50in resident food structure and played an important role in the total footprints of Chongqing. The proportion of grains showing a clear downward trend suggested that people’s grains consumption had been reducing year by year. Vegetables, eggs and milk products have a low proportion in the residents’ structure and affect small to the total footprints. The oil products and aquatic products have showed a clear upward trend and these amplitude offset the active affects of land productivity’s risen. During the year2003to2012, the residents’food structure of Chongqing has changed from low energy, low fat and low protein to high energy, high fat and high protein. The fifth chapter uses the food ecological carrying rate to evaluate and analyze the agricultural structure from the supply and demand balance point of view and put forward targeted policy and suggestion. In the study period, the food environment of Chongqing had been deficit. The product couldn’t match the demand but different agriculture products were largely different. Only vegetables and pork were surplus. Vegetables were in a highly surplus state with an average carrying rate of1.68, showing a strong developing trend, should be made the major direction and the main content of construction. The pork was also an advantage industry of Chongqing with an average carrying rate of1.29. Grains, oil, eggs, aquatic products and milk products all had different degrees deficit with average carrying rate0.75,0.53,0.57,0.97and0.18. It needs to raise the productivity of oil, aquatic products and eggs to matching the demand under keeping the advantage of vegetables and pork and reduce the consumption of industrial grains to ensure food safety. The sixth chapter uses the Markov method to analyze the spacial evolution of the main agricultural products’productivity of Chongqing from the county level to find out the best producing areas of different products and provide theoretical foundation for differentiated development of Chongqing’s agriculture. Analyzing the spacial evolution of the agricultural products’carrying rates of Chongqing during2003to2012by the Markov Method. All in all, different agriculture products’trends have convergence at a certain extent, but not had polarized. As the most potential agriculture industry, vegetables’ carrying rate had made further raised in the study period especially in northeast areas and southeast areas. Pork’s advantageous areas were in the northeast and southeast and the oil’s advantageous areas were in the southeast while aquatic products brings supremacy for the City Development Zone. The seventh chapter is the research conclusions of this article. We put forward some suggestions for the sustainable development of Chongqing’s agriculture. The government need to increasing supportive effort for agriculture productivity, develop the cold chain logistics, match the goal of urbanization and migration with agriculture productivity, and make different plans of agriculture products supply for different areas. The last chapter is a brief description of the matter and shortage of this article.
