The machinery companies, as a provider of special assembled products, onlyconcentrate on the work of assembly by themselves, most of the parts are supplied bythe suppliers. The supplier’s management ability have a significant impact to the finalproduct quality and the enterprise’s competitive position in the market. How to ensurethat parts or raw materials suppliers to meet the requirements to achieve continuousimprovement of product quality, has become an important research topic ofengineering machinery enterprises. In the face of competition and changeableenvironment and continuously compressed product profit, to occupy a seat in themarket place, not only concerned with its own development, but also to strengthen themanagement of suppliers, assist suppliers to import advanced production concepts andmethods. Lean production mode is the developing direction of the modern enterprise.Through assist the supplier to import the lean production mode, improve the ability ofthe supplier’s production and management, reduce the product cost, improve productquality and rapid response ability. Therefore, based on lean production processcontrol, the management of suppliers, make both parties formed close partnership, canimprove the makers of competitive advantage.This paper first explains the background and practical significance of leanmanufacturing and supplier evaluation and management. Then, with the leanproduction theory and the company’s actual situation, carried out the design andimplementation of lean production methods in terms of production planning andcontrol, production processes and production organization, inventory management,quality management, equipment management and organizational institutions. On thisbasis, analysis of the supplier evaluation of supply chain management environment,proposed the establishment of the principles of supplier evaluation index system andthe basic processes of vendor evaluation and selection, and accordingly theestablishment of a comprehensive, quantitative the suppliers’ evaluation index system.Finally, we propose a generalized use of gray correlation to determine the fuzzysimilarity matrix fuzzy clustering method of supplier evaluation, five suppliersselected for the study, conducted by analysis of practical examples of supplierevaluation system to verify the applicability of the supplier evaluation and assessmentmethods proceed in this article.
