In the historical geography, the study of regional historical geography is getting more and more attention from the academic community, but in the course of the research of regional historical geography, In addition to the traditional range of administrative regions as outside, A new way of the basin range began to appear. Wanjiang basin was located in HuainanDao and JiangnanxiDao in the Tang Dynasty, including the Xuan, Chi, Shu, Lu, He,Chu six states. As a link to Wanjiang, under the background of the economiccenter moving southward, the spatial distribution and change of the Economic geography was in the continuous development, which play an increasingly important role in the whole process of southeast of Finance in the Tang Dynasty. At the same time, it was also an important part of Economic development in the Yangtze River Basin. On the basis of research findings by predecessors. I strive to break the regional economic history Research methods. From the perspective of historical economic geography, I am to do a systematic analysis to the economic geography of Wanjiang basin again. In order to understand the academic meaning and practical significance of the economic geography of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty from the following several aspects:The first part:The natural environment and the humanities environment of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty. Any development of local economy will not be divided with the local natural environment and the humanities environment. In the natural environment, the drainage network lead in all directions, landform is mainly divided into four kinds——Yanjiang plain area, Jianghuai Hilly Land, West anhui Mountain hilly and mountainous area of South Anhui, and the annual average temperature was Higher than previous, and the rich river water provides favorable conditions for agricultural production; The humanities environment, the region has been in a constant process of evolution in Wanjiang basin, the population distribution had a significant southward process as rebellion of An and Shi profession. Population of the South brought advanced production technology and production experience and promote the development of agriculture and handicraft industry of Wanjiang River basin. The second part:The agricultural geographical and industrial geography research of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty. Agriculture took the basic position in the feudal system of national economy. A strong agriculture, A strong country. In the Tang Dynasty, agricultural geography of Wanjiang basin exhibit unique space layout and law. The development of agriculture is mainly manifested in the improvement ofproduction tools and technology, the construction and distribution of water conservancy projects, grain crops and economic crops distribution etc. Therefore, Further research of temporal and spatial distribution of Wanjiang basin agricultural geography and regional differences in the Tang Dynasty had the important meaning regarding the overall regional economic and social development. On the base of developing agriculture, handicraft industry had also made some progress. The textile industry and metallurgy industry represented occupied an important position in the country, the other hand industrial sectors in the spacedistribution pattern shows a "All flowers bloom together"state, but thedifferences between regions are evident. The third part:The traffical geography and commercial geography research of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty. Transportation geography, With the post system of continuous improvement, the waterway transportation of Wanjiang basin gradually formed a comprehensive transportation network, connectting West Hubei and Hunan basin, East Taihu plain, north through Caishiji can be arrived at Yangzhou, through the Chaohu Ji Gang routes can be straight Ying Huai Canal, arrived at Luoyang. The road to Shezhou and Xin’An River Valley had also opened, although there were some mountain wading, deep mountain gorge, but it was convenient for Wannan mountain to exchange with outside. The pattern of business geography mainly spatial differences in the production of goods and its change, regional commodity circulation and business district, the geographical distribution pattern of market development etc. With the tea trade, the region between the exchange of goods (plain along the Yangtze River)and farmers (South Anhui mountainous region),and at the same time, in the upper reaches of the Hong,E, Tan states traders along the river, the formation of a regional business district, in such a large trade areaand the distribution of all kinds of professional market, which generally led to development of the Changjiang River commercial. Conclusion:The overall pattern of economic geography of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty. The Wanjiang basin is divided into plain and hilly land of two major economic zones, in the plain area including plain along the Yangtze River and gang of Jianghuai hill, This range was flat, fertile soil, mainly for large-scale cultivation of food crops, while the hilly area, higher, much suitable for growing tea, mulberry and other economic crops. The handicraft industry is divided into government run and private two categories, the more rise in raw materials. The improvement of traffic conditions promoted industrial and commercial prosperity, formation a regional trade center and professional market pattern. At the same time, the economic development of Wanjiang basin in the Tang Dynasty is restricted by factors such as natural disasters and wars. In general this economic pattern continued into the early Song Dynasty, and has been affected so far.
