With the blooming development of world trade In the1990’s, green trade barrierswere generally risen in countries, especially in developed countries. An export has beengreatly affected in disadvantage developing countries. In recent years, green trade barriersare increasingly heavy in developed countries: an environmental requirement is morestringent, the standard of inspection and quarantine is higher. Since China joined the WTO,export markets of China’s agriculture have been broader. Also, our agricultural products’export is severely affected by the green trade barriers. So, these have brought opportunitiesand challenges for Chinese development. For now, there are many problems in the exportof agricultural products, which reduces the international competitiveness of exports ofagricultural products. For example, the export’s structure is irrational, agricultural productsis low value-added; export market is concentration, etc. Only when these issues weresolved, was the export of agricultural products promoted, and the competitive advantage ofagricultural export enhanced.This paper analyzes the causes and current situation of China’s agricultural productexports in green trade barriers’ situation. This paper calculates the advantages andcompetitiveness of agricultural exports by citing the index evaluation method, andIdentifies the advantages projects of China’s agricultural exports. In addition, this paperestimates the green trade barriers’ impact of China’s vegetable export to Japan marketthrough empirical analysis. Finally, according to the influencing factors, this paperproposes some suggestions to cope with green trade barriers. There are some greattheoretical and practical significance for the study of agricultural trade.
