The food industry plays an important role in China’s national economy, it is both a pillarindustry of our country, but also enriching industry; both a sunrise industry, but also arelatively small polluting industries. The convenience food manufacturing industry because ofits convenience characteristics, conforms to the change in lifestyle, and becomes one of themost dynamic and promising industries. Competitive strengths includes Scale competitiveness,profitability competitiveness, growth competitiveness, and efficiency competitiveness.In this paper, using clustering analysis and entropy method to evaluate thecomprehensive competitiveness of Hebei, Henan and Shandong provinces convenience foodmanufacturing industry, through the establishment of convenient industrial competitivenessevaluation index system of the food industry. Index system established in this paper includescompetitive strength and potential competitiveness. On the basis of previous studies, thepotential competitiveness includes innovation competitiveness, food safety competitivenessand environmental competitiveness. The conclusion is that Hebei Province convenience foodmanufacturing industry competitiveness is slightly lower than Shandong’s, but compared withthe Henan there is a big gap. In order to find the fundamental problem of Hebei Province, inthis paper, carried out more deeply analysis from a business and product perspective. Finallysummed convenience food manufacturing industry in Hebei has the following problems: lowvalue, small number, small-scale, not obviously brand advantage; poorly cost control, notobviously price advantage, low corporate investment efficiency; less investment in innovation,relatively long product upgrade cycle, less innovation; irrational industrial structure, notperfectly product categories; not fully utilized prime location and rich agricultural resources.While food safety has slight advantage, but the improvement of food safety is also important;in environmental aspects needs to be improved, to reduce the emission of pollutants.Finally, for the problems of convenience food manufacturing industry in Hebei, makerecommendations from the government level and corporate level targeted to enhance thecompetitiveness. The mainly suggestions in the government level as follows: Strengthen the attention to convenience food industry, provide policy support, strengthen capital investment;carry out good industrial layout and industrial planning, promote the development ofconvenience foods industrial park, actively cultivate leading enterprises; use specialties roadto industrialization, develop a strong group of competitive exports business; carry out a goodfood safety control system of supervision and strictly control food safety; strengthensupervision for enterprises, create a good competitive mechanisms to reduce emissionsabatement. In business perspective, strengthen cost control, improve capital utilization;emphasis on food science and technology innovation. Focus on nurturing their own brands;strengthen food safety control; strengthen environmental awareness, improve the purificationof pollutants, to promote environmental protection as a corporate culture.
