Retirement age is associated with working life and pension, it is essential for a country to mandatory the retirement age and the age is directly related to the actual interests of each worker and the stability of the entire pension system. The natural and social foundations of the retirement age changed with the socio-economic development, population status and technological progress. There are many particular social relations behind the regulation of one country’s retirement age. With the development of our country’s economy, the progress of the society, and the increasing level of the quality of the medical science and life, it brings a longer life to people, and then the aging of the population deepens, social endowment burden is getting more and more heavy, which brings heavy pressure to our country’s economy development and social security.This article analyses the factors affecting retirement decisions from macro and micro levels respectively including social security, technical progress and the difference of human resource. Based on the analysis of the current situation of labor markets and retirement of our country and other countries, this essay predicted how it will influence the labor force, the enterprises and the whole society. It projects some effective advices in accordance of the actual situation of our country and in reference of other countries’ experience about postponing retirement age, such as besides paying attention to the principle of fairness and implementing it step by step, there must be a perfect endowment insurance policy supporting this retirement delaying policy, reducing the obstacles, and making people easier to accept it. The government may take account into the flexible retirement policy which can reduce the bad influence that postponing retirement may have on different types of labor power. Meanwhile, regarding the old labors who are still working and going to retire, the government ought to make policies to help them continue working. I hope these politics can do the best to reduce the resistance in the process that our country implements the series of policies of postponing retirement age.
