The Empirical Research Of IT Investment Performance

With the rapid development of information technology, information technology has become an effective way of enterprise core competitiveness.With the popularity of electronic commerce, as well as the further application of EDI, POS machine and bar code technology, the faster the pace of information construction is in wholesale and retail industry. It becomes more and more significant that how to improve the information technology efficiency, this issue appeals to large of scholars and entrepreneurs.Quoted company in wholesale and retail industry is our research object. First, we hope to investigate the value of IT investment via DEA Model in the research, then we will calculate the IT investment efficiency, the two-stage of the IT investment efficiency with the Relational network DEA model of series system deeply, while we will analysis the relation between the two phases in this study. In the end we will explore the differences of the results of the two models. On the basis of the research about the two models, we will use the results of the Relational network DEA model to analysis which internal factors affect the results and how the two-stages affect the system function deeply. All in all, we can explore regularity and discover the problems through this research. The research result has some guidance significance for the formulation about the information technology investment strategy of the wholesale and retail enterprise, and can strengthen the construction of technology information, while the article guidance on how to improve enterprise core competitiveness via IT investment.This research find that the results of the two models is nearly consistent, and at the same time, the system efficiency of IT investment performance concerning wholesale and retail is low, but there are still some enterprises whose have high performance of IT investments. Moreover, the public companies researched in this paper show much low level efficiency in the second phase, namely the second phase of the IT investment needs to be strengthened. At the same time there is the inverse proportion relationship between the organizational size, organizational structure factors and the IT investment performance.
