Co-development of Qingdaogang port-Shandong Economic Region system is studied inthis thesis. In the background of the development of the global economical unify and theeconomy center concentrating along the coast, the port-hinterland system has become theimportant role in the development of the regional economy. Port not only stimulates the localcity and hinterland economy. In turn, the developed economic strength of hinterland canprovide the services and development environment, and enhance the competitiveness of theport. With the economic center of China moving to the north, the economic regional system isfacing the enormous opportunities and challenges, which is composed of Shandong Provinceand Qingdaogang Port. With the framework of Shandong peninsula blue economic zone, thisdissertation argues the spatial interaction of this system and finds the existing problem in thedevelopment of port and hinterland, and analyzes the cause of problems, to provide referencefor studying the development of other ports and hinterlands.Based on the theoretical research results about the relationships of the port-hinterland athome and abroad, building a comprehensive evaluation index system of associative degree, this dissertation analyzes the mean value correlation degree of Qingdaogang Port-ShandongEconomic Region by grey correlation analysis method during the period2001~2010as wellas the driving factors affecting the correlation degree of the system with the practical situationof Qingdaogang Port and Shandong Economic Region. Some conclusions are drawn asfollows:(1) The correlation degree of Qingdaogang Port and Qingdao city diminished, therelationship has entered a low period.(2) The correlation degree of Qingdaogangport-Shandong Economic Region manifests a phase-by phase evolution. The higher degree ofassociation is in the north and south, and then it transfers to the east, and at the third stage itgoes to the midland.(3) The changes of correlation degree are affected by various factors.(4)These driving factors affecting the interactive level of Qingdaogang Port-Shandong EconomicRegion are natural conditions and locations, infrastructure and transportation, economic leveland the integration degree of hinterland, policy environment, and competition with otherports. This dissertation is composed of six parts.Pare One: Introduction, presents the background and the meaning of research, as well asthe relationship of port-hinterland system at home and abroad; the problem to solve andresearch method are brought forward. Part Two:"Summary of the theory of port-hinterland". It explains the concept, themeaning of port-hinterland and the basic theory of research of the relationship of port andhinterland. It also introduces general functioning modes of spatial structure evolvement ofport-hinterland system.Part Three:"The spatial evolution process of Qingdao Port-Shandong Economic Region".Firstly, introduce the basic status and the evolution process of the project, and then analyzethe spatial evolution process of Qingdao Port and17cities in Shandong Economic Regionwith the grey associative degree and these driving factors which affect the interactive level ofthe system. At last, figure out the problem that the port-hinterland system is facing.Part Four:"Countermeasure suggestion for hastening development of QingdaoPort-Shandong Economic Region". Aim at the system actual fact; the suggestions ofpromoting the coordinated development of regions are put forward from five differentaspects.Part Five: It is conclusion of the dissertation. It sums up the research of the article andpoints out the way of needing to probe more.
