Study On The Competitiveness Of Rice Industry In Mudanjiang City

As one of main food crops of Mudanjiang city, rice plays a significant role infood production. Compared with the developed areas in Heilongjiang province, thecompetitiveness level of rice industry in Mudanjiang city is relatively low. Throughputting forward the process of "construction the capital of green organic food ofChina", the potential for agricultural development will be fulfilled gradually, as aresult, the competitiveness of rice industry has more upside potential contribute to thedevelopment of rice industry. Combined with the natural, social, economic conditionand the actual development of agricultural industry of Mudanjiang city, the issuewhich needs to deeply think and research under the new situation is to effectively takeadvantage of the resources and to find reasonable means to promote thecomprehensive competitiveness level of the rice industry of Mudanjiang city.In view of the development of rice industry in Mudanjiang city, applying theindex comprehensive evaluation method and principal component analysis to assessrice industry competitiveness of Mudanjiang, this paper propose the countermeasuresand suggestions to improve rice industry competitiveness of Mudanjiang according tothe evaluation results and existing issues in the development of rice industry.First of all, this dissertation expounds the concepts and related theories ofcompetitiveness level of the rice industry.Second, this dissertation analyzes the development condition of rice industry inMudanjiang, and find out the current problems and disadvantage that existed in thedevelopment of rice industry in Mudanjiang city.Third, based on "diamond theory" of Michael Porter, the absorption of domesticand foreign similar scientific evaluation indexes and available statistical data, thisdissertation analyze the influence factors of rice industry competitiveness related to five main directions-agricultural production factors, demand of agricultural products,main body status of agricultural management, related mechanism and condition ofindustry development and government factor. In this way, by establishing itsevaluation system, this dissertation evaluate the competitiveness of rice industry inMudanjiang city, quantitative the gap between Mudanjiang and other better rice citiesand rate the position of Mudanjiang’s rice industry in the province.Finally, aiming at the problems existed in development of rice industry inMudanjiang city and combining evaluation results and influencing factors, thisdissertation propose the countermeasures and suggestions to improve thecompetitiveness level of rice industry in Mudanjiang: Planning production layout andvarieties of high quality rice; raising the level of per unit area yield of high quality;popularizing mating production technology of high quality rice; strengthening thetechnical guidance of rice production; supporting leading rice processing enterprises;extending the chain of rice processing industrial; intensifying integration of ricebrand.
