Analysis Of The Match Between Provincial Economic Contact And The Geo-economic Relationship Of Hunan

With the macro background of regional coordinated development, such as PPRDeconomic circle, rise of central China, Hunan now meets a great new opportunitythat ever had before. Recent years, Hunan has experienced a fast development. Thus,to analyze the economic contact and the geo-economic relationship has extremelyimportant strategic significance for Hunan to keep the development stable andsustainable.By analyzing the economic contact, the geo-economic relationship and how theseissues match, this paper aims to give scientific basis for Hunan when making regionaldevelopment policies, so that it can find the best strategy during competition andcorporation. Firstly, by looking up the China Statistical Yearbook2011, China CityStatistical Yearbook2011to get the relevant statistics, this paper using the gravitymodel, location quotient model and city-flow model to analyze Hunan’s economicrelation with other provinces. The result shows that Hunan is not so prominent in theeconomic contact of the whole country, and has close economic relation withprovinces that have shorter spatial distances. For the industrial structure, Hunan’s firstindustry has advantages, and the second and the tertiary industry are comparativelyweak. Secondly, this paper uses the Euclidean distance model analyze thegeo-economic relations between Hunan and other provinces. The result shows that thenumber of provinces whose geo-economic relationship with Hunan is competitive ismore. Finally, this paper analyzes the match of geo-economic relationship and theintensity of economic contact, industrial structure. In this way, on the one hand, it canexamine the rationality of economic contact between provinces. On the other hand, ithelps find out the effect of industrial structure differences on geo-economic relation,and finally give clear direction and guide for the provincial cooperation. The resultsshow that the match between Hunan and region like YRD, The Beijing and TianjinHebei are good. Hunan has makes good advantages of the geo-economic relationshipwhile making economic contact. However, Hunan doesn’t make full use of thegeo-economic relationship as well while making strategy. Besides, the results tell thatthe deference of industrial division affects but not decide the geo-economicrelationship.Based on the analysis of the economic contact and geo-economic relation with other province, this paper points out the existed problems of Hunan’s regional contactand meanwhile, offers corresponding suggestions.
