As an important part of the security system in China, the influence of thework-related injury insurance is becoming more and more prominent in thedevelopment of the society and economy. It has aroused extensive concern,especially in our country’s current situation. With the rapidly development of theChinese economy, building a trinity industrial injury insurance system ofindustrial injury prevention, vocational rehabilitation and industrial injurycompensation has become a part of the sustainable development strategy andprerequisite to build a harmonious socialist society. As the main energy industry inthe development of our economy, industrial injuries are also unavoidable and areincreasing in coal industry. In the fourth quarter of2011, there happened15serious accidents and71people are murdered. It has a complex geologicalcircumstance under the coal mine and natural disasters also happen frequentlyunder the coal mine. Both the industrial accident and the pneumoconiosis threatthe safety of the workers of the coal industry. So, to research theindustrial injury insurance of the coal industry has great significance forimproving the industrial injury insurance system of the coal industry and reducingthe rate of accident.This paper use statistical method to analysis industrial accidents whichhappen in coal industry. Firstly, this article takes the “Injury InsuranceRegulations” which was implemented in2004as the dividing line to analysisindustrial accidents happening in coal industry. Death rate per million tons coalproduction is also put to use when analysis the date of coal output and death toll.With the development of the economy and the improvement of coal mineenterprises, the mortality rate is reducing, while the big gap still exists comparedwith developed countries. Secondly, this article expounds the current situation ofChinese industrial injury insurance in coal industry and introduces the process of industrial injury insurance in coal industry. Then it asks questions about industrialinjury insurance system, industrial injury prevention, industrial injury insurancepremium, vocational rehabilitation and industrial injury compensation coalindustry. It also expounds the causes of these problems, which provide a basis forfind a proper way for improving the industrial injury insurance in coal industry.Last but not least, this article draws on the strengths of Australia and Japan’sindustrial injury insurance in coal industry, so as to offer some useful reference forperfecting our country’s industrial injury insurance system.
