A Research Based On Grounded Theory About Tacit Knowledge Management Issue Of MNC In China

Scholars generally pay attention to the study of the knowledge in the research area, and has made great achievements in theory. However, there are few research achievements about the area of tacit knowledge management in the multinational companies. Based on this issue, we pick up multinational enterprises in China as the research object. In order to dig out the tacit knowledge and the management methods of tacit knowledge in the enterprises, which can make reference for local enterprises to manage its tacit knowledge effectively, we use grounded theory as the research method to analysis the Chinese companies.This paper uses the research method of grounded theory root and operates according to the program. We select28employees who work in the multinational enterprises in China for depth interview. And we use the NVivo8.0to code the materials that we have collected for analysis. The tacit knowledge in enterprise is divided four levels and find out the relationship between the different levels. They are personal tacit knowledge, group tacit knowledge, organization the recessive knowledge and the external tacit knowledge. Then we establish the different levels of tacit knowledge model of multinational enterprises in China. Research shows that the personal tacit knowledge, the group tacit knowledge and the organization tacit knowledge in enterprises influences each other. External tacit knowledge affects the organization tacit knowledge directly, and effects personal tacit knowledge and group tacit knowledge indirectly through the influence on organization tacit knowledge.That this research adopts the grounded theory for qualitative analysis is a meaningful trial on tacit knowledge management research. And this study is also significant for tacit knowledge management of qualitative research of multinational companies based on China’s national conditions, which can help local enterprises to manage tacit knowledge effectively. However, the time, energy and research resources are limited, we still need more samples and use more method to study this issue in the future.
