| In the trend of regional cooperation all around the world, the development of regional economic cooperation in Asia is also underway. Asia Pacific regional cooperation organizations such as ASEAN10+1"," ASEAN10+3" and" ASEAN10+6", in which ASEAN play as a core role, are developing fast, and the cooperation mechanism are become more and more mature. However, none of these cooperation mechanisms has included the United States; as a result, the United States was marginalized in Asia. U.S. tried to return to Asia through TPP, which may have great impact on the existing regional cooperation mechanisms in Asia, and may also break other regional cooperation mechanisms in Asia. To lead TPP negotiation, U.S. decides to dominate the regional economic cooperation in Asia. China has always advocated the establishment of Japan-Korea FTA to promote the development of integration of regional economic in Asia.Currently, Japan has played an important role both in CJK FTA and TPP, so it’s EPA strategy become decisively important. Combined with early researches, this paper discusses the current status of Japan’s EPA cooperation, and then concludes the characteristics of Japan’s EPA strategy, including factors such as economic, political diplomatic and predominance. This paper also reviews the development of TPP and CJK FTA, and the economic benefits and non-economic benefits for Japan to join TPP and CJK FTA. Furthermore, this paper compares the difficulties for Japan to join TPP and CJK FTA. One of the Japan’s major purpose to implement EPA strategy is to get rid of the current economic stagnate. Japan is going to accelerate its EPA strategy pace. The last part of this paper is going to discuss the way to advance negotiation progress of CJK FTA, and make some policy recommendations based on the current situation of China. |
