As global economic develops rapidly, the industrial structure constantly adjusts to the environment. Nowadays the environment enterprises facing frequently changes and new job roles appear. Under such circumstances employees are up against challenges and threaten and work stress occurs. So far many domestic and overseas scholars have investigated work stress from different angle. Work Stress has been the key of research about stress. There are lots of sources of work stress, including work itself, interpersonal relationship, roles of challenge and career development. Especially performance pressure can’t be neglected. It is reported that performance pressure is now one of the main pressure. The key of the competition of modern enterprises is high technology. Therefore software developers are required to be more skillful. They are more sensitive to the pressure from the performance appraisal. Moreover, their performance results are often difficult to measure and they are inclined to choose challenging work and to be keen to pursue the realization of personal value. Because of these special characteristics, it is meaningful to study the relationship between performance pressure and performance improvement. On the other hand, for software developers, knowledge is crucial to work efficiency. So this paper also studies the intermediary role of the willingness to learn among the research model.Nowadays there are lots of research results about the relationship between work stress and performance. But there are few studies of two intermediate processes. This paper is to study from such a perspective. On the basis of predecessors’ research, the innovation points of this paper are mainly manifested in the following two aspects. On the one hand, the domestic and foreign scholars have studied the relationship between work stress and performance. But in the domestic there is almost no the literature about the relationship between performance pressure and employee performance. This paper reveals the relationship between performance pressure and employee performance improvement. And it chooses performance pressure as a new research object. On the other hand, the past research more studies the pressure source or the stress response to explain the relationship between stress and performance. It is less concerned about the specific process in which stress affects performance. But this paper introduces willingness to learn as the mediation variables, further analyzing the effect of willingness to learn. And then this paper explores the concrete action mechanism between performance pressure and employee performance improvement. This paper mainly divides into five parts. The first part is the introduction which introduces the background and significances, research thought and research purpose, which is to clear the starting point of this thesis research. The second part is the review and analysis of the related literature which combs the domestic and foreign scholars’ studies on the relationship among performance pressure, willingness to learn and employee performance improvement. This paper further makes a simple review on these studies. This part explains the basis for the research. The third part is the research design. This part mainly expounds the research model and hypothesis of this study, research methods, as well as the relevant variables measurement. Through the design part of this thesis, what the paper is to study and its validation are introduced. On the fourth part, this paper adopts correlation analysis, regression analysis and other statistical methods to test the proposed hypotheses, which is the main part of this paper. The fifth part puts forward the conclusion of this study, management advice and the existing shortcomings, which is a temporary full stop for this thesis. It also puts forward the future research direction.Through the analysis, this paper mainly draws four conclusions. Firstly, software developers have three significant characteristics. They have a higher knowledge level, a younger age and a higher turnover rate. Secondly, software developers generally faced with high performance pressure and have a strong willingness to learn. Through learning their performance is also improved. Thirdly, there is a positive correlation relationship between performance pressure and employee performance improvement. And the relationship between performance pressure and willingness to learn and between willingness to learn and employee performance improvement is the same. Fourthly, in the research model willingness to learn acts as a partial intermediary role.
