Land consolidation is targeted for a comprehensive goal that is the improvement of the overall production, living condition and the ecological environment of rural areas. Land consolidation Projects in most area throughout our country pursuit of cultivated land area increased as the single target and ignore comprehensive effect, especially ecosystem service values gains and losses of land consolidation. As a result, land consolidation must follow the path of sustainable development in order to make full use of land consolidation potential, improve land use structure and enhance land use efficiency.Taking a case study on the land consolidation project of XiMa township in HongJiang city, some overviews of the theory of land consolidation, ecosystem service values gains and losses of land consolidation and eco-compensation from home and abroad have been given in this paper.According to changes of land use structure before and after land consolidation project, by referencing to the formula of ecosystem service values proposed by Costanza and the Per unit area China terrestrial ecosystem service value proposed by Xie Gaodi to research the influence of land use changes on ecosystem service values, and then put forward the relative countermeasures of eco-compensation. The main results were as follows:1、 Various land use types of the studied area have obvious change. The cultivated land and other agricultural land area increased. The garden land, forest land and unoccupied land area decreased. It reduced the types of various land use from12to5after land consolidation project.2、The results indicate that the ecosystem service values of XiMa township decreased0.29million from5.21million to4.92million after land consolidation, and the descending ratio was5.51%.3、Suggest that by improving the relative countermeasures of eco-compensation from economy, society, eco-environment and technology aspects in order to realize the real land consolidation.
