| In the context of economic globalization, especially since the worldwide outbreak of the financial crisis in2009, globalization trend of R&D, production, parts procurement, marketing and other aspects of the automobile industry are becoming increasingly apparent. In recent years, auto market in China has become largest market in the world, and the sales volume of vehicle hits record highs. But the status of China in the global automotive industry chain is still low. However, with China’s sustained rapid economic development and the Chinese auto industry matured, the ability of Chinese auto enterprise to enter the international automobile market is growing.I have selected the company I served-S Automotive Group (SAIC Group) as the object of this study. SAIC Group has made some achievements and accumulated a lot of overseas development experience after years of overseas market development. But it also exposed many problems in overseas development. All in all, SAIC Group thinks a lot of short-term interests, and definite overseas development strategy is not timely formulated. This situation has increased the further difficulty for SAIC Group to develop in overseas, and formed a certain restraint for SAIC Group to successfully become an internationally competitive large enterprise. Therefore, how to improve the situation of lack of definite overseas development strategy, and form a more orderly and effective development environment in overseas, has become a long-term development imperative to SAIC Group.Through the analysis of the competitive environment in domestic and overseas, aiming at SAIC’s own development characteristic and various problems faced by SAIC in its overseas development process, the existence problems of SAIC Group are identified by summarizing the development lessons in overseas development.
