Urbanization derives from the Industrial Revolution. City has become a center of economic activities through providing various resources for the urban social and economic development. Due to the differences in resource endowments, the level of urbanization in various regions of the world varies. China is the fastest growing countries of the urbanization in the world, the level of urbanization was52.6%, but still lags behind the developed countries. Urbanization can drive the country’s economic growth, to achieve industrial restructuring, the Chinese government made it clear that urbanization has great potential for expanding domestic demand, if follow the market law, urbanization will reasonable guide population movements and the transfer of industries, and help to form the scientific layout of the different types of cities, a reasonable division of labor, functional complementation and coordination to promote. Interaction between agricultural development and urbanization is a key focus of the urbanization; the core is the urbanization of people. The purpose of urbanization is to improve residents’welfare, achieve new urbanization and agricultural modernization.In the study, this paper uses a combination of theoretical and empirical methods, analyzes the history of development processes and characteristics, and refers to theoretical perspectives and theoretical models, do the empirical tests of urbanization and economic growth, agricultural development relationships by using unrestricted VAR model based on historical data. Specific studies include:The first chapter deals with the research background and significance, review research progress and literature, and proposes research comment, the methods used and the innovation of this study, then describes the technical route; The second chapter summarize the relevant economic theory from the views of economic growth to promote urbanization and urbanization to promote economic growth, and describes four stage of China’s urbanization process, then summarizes the characteristics of urbanization and positioning; Chapter3demonstrates the relationship between urbanization and economic growth due to Black and Henderson theoretical model, by econometric VAR model empirically tests the relationship between China’s urbanization and economic growth; Chapter4, by using econometric VAR model and actual data, respectively empirically tests the relationship between China’s urbanization and income of urban residents, rural residents’ income, agricultural productivity and agricultural mechanization efficiency. Chapter5summarizes analytical results mentioned above and makes recommendations.
