In recent years, with the consistent and rapid development of China’s economy, theindustry of viscose fiber in China has seized a good opportunity for development as theoutput and sales of viscose fiber undergoes high-speed increment and reached to over1.80million tons in2010. China thus becomes one of the great countries for productionof viscose fiber and the industry of viscose fiber has become the important pillar of thenational economy. It has some comprehensive advantages over the performance-priceratio and increasingly raises its international competitiveness and brand image by virtueof constant improvement in product quality and relatively low cost of labor.However, the overall development and innovation of the industry still has a big gapwith the international advanced level because the whole industry in China influencesand limits, although its manufacturing has reached a relatively high level, even someprocesses approach and has reached the internal standard with over60-yeardevelopment of China’s industry of viscose fiber, especially the rapid development inthe past10years.In order to achieve continuing and healthy development of China’s industry ofviscose fiber and make it has the international competitiveness as soon as possible, it’srequired to improved technological innovation of China’s industry of viscose fiber andget rid of the vicious circle of “Introduce-fall behind-re-introduce-fall behind again” andtechnology-dependent traps. Thus, from this view, self-innovation has great significancefor development of China’s industry of viscose fiber. Basically, the capacity to developproducts more comes from enterprise’s practice and accumulation in self development.Therefore, the most important thing for building up the enterprise’s ability of innovationis to view technical innovation as the major developmental strategy of an enterprise.Currently under more increasingly competitive circumstances for the internationalindustry of viscose fiber, this paper uses technological innovation theory andnewcomers’ technical capacity development theory to systematically discuss thetechnological innovation of Yibin Grace Group and reviews its developmental history,analyzes its applicable operation system through literature reference, interviews and examples as well as summarizes technological innovations of Grace at new stage bytaking account of the first technological revolution, process innovation, the secondtechnological revolution, product innovation and the third technological revolution,system innovation.On this basis, it reveals key and difficult points of technological innovation ofGrace at the new era by deeply analyzing macro environment and developmental trendof international and domestic industries of viscose fiber, and discuss the base for powerof technological innovation in terms of market and technology, and works outinnovative revelation with general significance to Grace even to the whole industry bydemonstrating the Grade’s strategy for technological innovation that must be chosenand implemented to keep at the leading place of international competitiveness.
