The aim of this thesis is to build competency model of comprehensive teller forjoint-stock commercial banks, to put the model into practice, and to provide reference for thejoint-stock commercial banks in recruitment and selection, training, compensationmanagement, performance appraisal, labor relations management and career planning.Based on the literature analysis, firstly this thesis adopts BEI to interview the samples ofjoint-stock commercial banks. Secondly, based on pre-research, this thesis buildscomprehensive teller competency initial model for joint-stock commercial banks. Finally,self-evaluation questionnaire on comprehensive teller competency initial model forjoint-stock commercial banks is designed according to the model. After exploratory factoranalysis of data gained from the preliminary questionnaire, comprehensive teller competencyfactors for joint-stock commercial banks are identified, and comprehensive teller competencyinitial model for joint-stock commercial banks is formed. Finally formal questionnaire ismade and the model is testified. The followings are some conclusions.(1) Comprehensive teller competency model for joint-stock commercial banks ismulti-dimensional. It includes6factors: achievement motivation, attention to detail, serviceawareness, communication skills, organizational identity, and interpersonal insight;(2) After the exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and reliability andvalidity tests for self-evaluation questionnaire on comprehensive teller competency initialmodel for joint-stock commercial banks, it shows that this questionnaire has great reliabilityand validity and meets the requirements of surveying.(3) In general, the comprehensive teller competency initial model for joint-stockcommercial banks has no significant gender differences, but there exit significant differencesof age, academic qualifications and seniority.
