A Study Of Integration Between Industrialization And Informatization And The Link To TFP

Since the beginning of the new century, China became an emerging developingcountry which is still in the period of the transition. However, China still faces manychallenges in the middle and late process of industrialization. In the same time, thewaves of technology are deep into the socio-economic development gradually invarious fields. The keys to bail out are to propose the promotion of the integrationbetween industrialization and informatization which means that the industrializationand informatization will promote each other. Moreover, it also needs to accelerate thechanging of the mode of economic development thus to achieve the innovativedevelopment and leaps and bounds. Some issues may be arisen: What is the actualmeaning of the integration between industrialization and informatization? How doindustrialization and informatization affect the integration? How to measuredeveloping level of the integration of between industrialization and informatization inChina? How the integration will affect the economic development? Whst is therelationship between the level of the integration and the indicator of the quality ofeconomic development? According to these issues, this thesis focuses on solvingfollowing problems:（1）Because of the technological innovation, the updating of products and socialprogress, the integration of the industrialization and informatization arises. Theintegration is obviously based on the industrialization and informatization which areinteraction, functional complementation and collaborative development. The meaningof the integration can be narrowly explained as the process of interacting andpromoting development between traditional industry and information industry. Whilethe broad sense says that is the evolution of the combination between the socialprocesses of industrialization and informatization. The most significant way toachieve the integration is informatizations leads industrialization and industrializationpromotes informatization which is also the key point to be analyzed.（2） The integration level between industrialization and informatizationestimated with comprehensive index and the coordinated development coefficient, notonly can evaluate the comprehensive development of the integration system betweenindustrialization and informatization, can also describe the coordinated developmentof industrialization and informatization. Measured by this method, the paper estimates the integration coefficient of informationization to drive industrialization and theintegration coefficient of industrialization to promote information from2001to2010in China’s28provinces, finds that these two coefficients have different changingtrend, one has a rising trend, another declined. Based on these twocoefficients, we cancalculate the coordinated development coefficient of industrialization andinformatization, and find that the overall level of integration between industrializationand informatization show a rising tend in this period, however, there is a big gapbetween different area showed an obvious regional features, and there will be a hugedevelopment in the future.（3）Total Factor Productivity is an important index of measure the quality ofeconomic development, this paper studies theoretically and practically the influencemechanism of the integration between industrialization and informatization to TFP.Through the regression analysis to the integration between industrialization andinformatization and technology progress index which is a main factor to affect theTFP, it suggests that the integration between industrialization and informatizationplay significant role in promoting technology progress index, then play positive rolein increasing of TFP, also confirms that the integration between industrialization andinformatization have influence in the quality of economic growth.
