Chinese economy grew rapidly in the past decades. The growth of China’snational economy and the development of information technology bring diversity ofuser economic needs and transformation of financial industry service form. Chineseconsumers will be crazy about pursuing of high and new technology and products tomaintain efficient living conditions and communication with others and follow thetrend of development. In all kinds of needs, increased demands for financial servicesexists in the users of all ages, especially in young users. At the same time, bankingfinancial services is developing from traditional mode to the trend of mobile internetservices in the information age, from counter service to online banking, from ATM t omobile bank. A survey shows that China’s consumers still lack enough trust offinancial services and products that existed, diversified and individualized demandsare not met yet of Chinese personal finance. Although personal financial managementservice is gradually taken by banks seriously and in the circumstance of otherorganizations in American and Europe which has launched a targeted service, thepersonal financial management marketing in China still remains blank. Under thebackground of these, the research question in this paper is determined, research onpersonal financial management needs and mobile service design for the young.First of all, the article analyses the background of current personal financialmanagement service development, including information technology, mobile smartdevice, mobile internet financial service, financial policy and user needs. Then itelaborates financial service from traditional service to personal financial managementservice from the standpoint of the need theories and the custo mer segmentation.Through analyzing different dominant models’ personal financial managementservices, combining the young’s background and financial management needs, thestudy is positioned on the young’s personal financial management needs. The articleuses mixture of qualitative and quantitative research methods for evaluationexperiments, analyses experiment in terms of user satisfaction, content and function,interaction flow, visualization and user experience, and comes to the potential needsof users. At last, the article designs a prototype of personal financial managementservice and tests it with recognition walkthrough.The difficult point of this article is how to analysis experimental results withscientific method and convert user requirements to available design solutions. The article’s innovation is that it combines Chinese’s traditional wealth accumulationculture and financial management needs, introduces the concept of personal financialmanagement into local environment. It analyses the young’s background, main bodyof future social economic trends and financial management needs, defines the targetcustomer for the service. The article finds the existed mobile financial service’sproblems and the young’s potential needs of personal financial management throughexperiment. The article brings up mobile personal financial management service’sprototype design based on local environment and the actual needs of users.
