Study On The Latent Productive Capacity Of Grain And Its Measures To Continuously Increase Yield At Fangcheng County

Fangcheng county is located in the southwest of Henan province,northeastern corner of Nanyang basin, foothill of Funiu mountains, upstream ofTangbai river. The whole county has102,000hm~2cultivated land, which include38,000hm~2sloping farmland, accounting for37.3%of the cultivated land. Soil isbarren so that water loss and soil erosion are more serious. In2011, althoughFangcheng county was elected the production county, there were still some problemsabout grain production, which need to resolve. In this paper, on the base of systemresearch, how to improve food production and how to make full use of land resourceswere proposed. The main results are as follows:Fangcheng county obtained continuously the abundant harvest for7years, thetotal productivity of grain was more than500million kg for5years. This resulted inawards such as “model county of grain production around the China, Henan andNanyang city”. However, the production level lag behind the average level ofNanyang and Henan. So, there is a huge space to improve.The main problems restricting crop production in Fangcheng county. The first isthe drought; the second is the low yield level; the third is that agriculturalinfrastructure is weak; the fourth is the washy consciousness of farmers’ food security;the fifth is the low degree of agricultural mechanization and the difficulty topopularization; the seventh is the weak food processing; the eighth is unadvancedscience and technology, behind service and so on.On the account of the above production problems, in order to fully exploreproduction of grain at Fangcheng county and continuously improve yield, the mainways and counter measures were as follows. Firstly, managers will carry out "fourwater" strategy, improve available water volume, increase irrigation engineeringconstruction force quickly, and strengthen drought-resistant organization construction; Secondly, measures to strengthen agriculture and benefit farmers will be implemented;Thirdly, agriculture project integration effect should be played; Fourth, Demonstratingand promoting crops integrated technology were proposed; Lastly, we strengthengrain policy propaganda, government guidance and actively support grain processingleading enterprise.
