This is the mayorissue faced by the current policy formulation and practice of Yunnan Province andwill play an active role for our foreign policy.The thesis is based on the development status of foreign direct investment andforeign trade of Yunnan Province.Based on the foreign direct investment and traderelations between the theory and the latest research, and according to statistics ofYunnan Province in1990-2010years，making an empirical study on the relationshipbetween FDI and import-export growth, trade structural optimization by the relevantstatistical knowledge. Finally,the paper proposes some constructive policy in order topromote import-export and optimize the structure of export trade. The governmentshould take some necessary measures to attract foreign investment, and optimize theenvironment to seize the opportunity to expand the market and explore the potentialpillar industries.
