With the rapid development of economic globalization and regional integration,international capital and various product resources circulate fast around the world,International trade is becoming a tremendous energy of economic and socialdevelopment in every nation in the world. The development of foreign trade isextremely important to industrial structure optimization of a country or region. Sincethe reform and opening up, Xinjiang’s foreign trade has experienced decades ofdevelopment and has made great achievements with profound knowledge. It plays animportant role in the development of the national economic development of Xinjiang.But there still are many problems like small-scale foreign trade enterprises, irrationalimport and export commodity structure and low product localization of foreign tradeto be solved. The goal of this study will be: how Xinjiang will achieve the goal ofexpanding scale of foreign trade and optimizing foreign trade structure whilepromoting the national economy three industrial structure optimization,and eventuallyforming the pulling effect of the spillover effects of foreign trade and industrialdevelopment to achieve linkage mechanism.The relationship between Xinjiang’s foreign trade and industrial structure is theresearch object of the paper, which mainly focusing on the effect of Xinjiang’s foreigntrade to industry structure. This paper consists of six parts: The first part reviews andcomments the relevant literature; The second part discusses the impact of industrialstructure of foreign trade theory, and draw mechanism of foreign trade to upgrade theindustrial structure; The third part analyzes Xinjiang’s development status of foreigntrade structure and industrial structure,and draw existing problems of them; The forthpart gives empirical Analysis of the influence of Xinjiang’s foreign trade developmentto the industrial structure, providing a basis for the below study of correlation of them;Based on the results of the analysis on the development of Xinjiang’s foreign traderole of the industrial structure analysis, the fifth part comes to the development offoreign trade contribution to the upgrading of industrial structure and upgrade theindustrial structure in the hindering factors; The last part based on these studies ofXinjiang’s foreign trade,the paper gives suggestions on promoting industrial structure optimization.This paper draws the following conclusions:(1) the development of foreign tradein Xinjiang has rich elements of resources and development potential, and will usherin a new period of development.(2) The empirical results show that foreign tradeimports and exports are not the same degree of influence on the development of threeindustries and the specific performance is: The export of primary products has asignificant positive impact on the development of primary industry; exports ofmanufactured goods have a positive impact on the development of the secondaryindustry, and the export of primary products may impede the second industrialupgrading; foreign trade and exports have small impact on the development of tertiaryindustry; high-tech products in industrial manufactures can promote the optimizationand upgrading of the industrial structure; to some extent, benign development ofXinjiang’s foreign trade can promote the optimization and upgrading of industrialstructure.(3) in the new “12th Five-Year” period, Xinjiang is facing opportunities ofgreat development, great open and great building,concerning the existing problemsof foreign trade, Xinjiang should adapt practical countermeasures to improve andaccelerate the development of foreign trade, Xinjiang’s industrial structure upgradewill be promoted through Xinjiang’s foreign trade structure optimization.
