| Traditional closed innovation can not support companies’ development anymorebecause of the impact from enrosen factors such as the rise of venture capital,theimproving reseach ability of research institutions and so on. Open innovation theory whichwas introduced by professor chesbrough emphasied the importance of external innovationresources to improve the technological innovation capability of enterprises and finallypromote enterprises’ technological innovation performance. It’s reported by the WIPO thatpatent is the world’s largest source of technical information, for those knowledge-intensiveenterprises especially strategic emerging industries whice facing patent barriers patent hasa unique strategic value because of it’s exclusive feature. Therefore, how to effectively usethe external patent resources especially invention patent to improve the technologicalinnovation performance of enterprises in the open innovation environment is verymeaningful, especially for those enterprises suffered patent litigation from foreigncompanies in China.In this paper, the concept of patent introduction was defined on the basis of a reviewof theory, then we proposed the model of patent inroduction on enterprises’ technologicalinnovation performance in the open innovation environment, on that basis we conducted atest on the model and the hypothesis through questionnaire and SPSS/AMOS, the resultsshow that the introduction of patents from outside the enterprise can effectively enhancethe performance of enterprises’ technology innovation. Besides, the absorption capacity ofthe enterprises play a key role in it. Finally some policy suggestions and managerialimplications for strategic emerging industry enterprises in china are provided on how toeffectively use the external patent resources to improve technological innovationperformance, and at the same time put forward some new ideas and suggestion for furtherresearch. |
