Income distribution refers to the allocation of national revenue to alldepartments, all production units and all non-production units in national economyas well as to citizens. The issue of income distribution is the core theme in thedevelopment of economic life, which occupies an important position in the system ofeconomic theory, concerns the normal operation of the whole social economy, andbears profound theoretical and practical significance to the most fundamentalinterests of all the people. For more than30years of reform and opening up, China’seconomy has been the second largest in the world, and the overall income level ofthe residents has been greatly improved. However, the gap of income distribution isbecoming more and more serious, which restricts the transition of mode of economicgrowth. Under this circumstance, it involves the vital interests of thousands ofhouseholds to make the cake of labor reward bigger and to cut the big cake ofincome distribution better. Therefore, it has been an important issue of China’economic reform to study the current situation of China’s income distribution byusing the basic principle of Marxism and to perfect income distribution by referringto effective measures from western developed counties.This thesis was divided into four parts, the first part was the introduction whichtalked about the reason and significance of the study; gave a summary to the studiesat home and abroad; listed the methods, key points, difficult points and innovativepoints of the study; and finally summarized the research thinking and logicalstructure of the thesis. The second part gave a systematical interpretation of Marx’stheory of income distribution. Firstly, it outlined the historical background about theformation of Marx’s theory of income distribution, and gave a comprehensiveinterpretation to the basic connotation, principles and main ideas of the Marx’stheory of income distribution. Secondly, it hackled Lenin’s and Stalin’ s inheritanceand development of Marx’s theory of income distribution. Finally, it combinedMarx’s theory of income distribution with China’s concrete practice and proposedthe theory of income distribution with Chinese characteristics. On the basis of reviewing China’s system of income distribution since reform and opening up, thethird part analyzed the gap of income distribution at present, which mainly analyzedthe income gaps between China’s urban areas and rural areas, between differentregions, different professions and different groups by the warning of Gini coefficient.Finally, the reasons of the gaps of income distribution were summarized, which weremainly talked about from the following aspects: historical factors, unequal chancesin social transition and unequal system of income distribution and the existence ofprofessional monopoly and gray income. On the basis of summarizing theexperience on narrowing the gap of income distribution in western developedcountries, the fourth part put forward some guiding thoughts to perfect China’ssystem of income distribution and some countermeasures to narrow the gap ofincome distribution.
