The foundations of China–Kazakhstan bilateral relations were laid on January3,1992, when a Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Bilateral Relations betweenthe People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed andfollowed by the conclusion of the Joint Statement on the Foundation of the FriendlyRelations. Both have aimed to ensure regional security, economic growth and clampdown on terrorism and drug trafficking by means of enhanced cooperation. China–Kazakhstan Economic Cooperation and Development are in fact some of the significantsteps that have been taken so far to ensure effective cooperation between the countriesin the realm of trade, energy, science and technology, culture, education etc.China and Kazakhstan have also assigned a lot of importance to mutual commercialexpansion and economic development. Kazakhstan, being a natural reservoir of oil,natural gas, minerals and energy resources, has attracted the attention of China over theyears. China has taken a major initiative to develop energy industries in Kazakhstan andis currently operating four small oilfields. Kazakhstan is also keen to cooperate withChina in investment and processing.This thesis aims to bring some conclusion like how the Bilateral relations between thecountries have proved to be mutually beneficial to both for strategic reasons. The twoeconomies are highly complementary. This thesis has tried to figure out how China canhelp Kazakhstan in many areas since it has a lot of experience in how to develop. Andto successfully overcome the negative aftermath of the global financial crisis, alsomanaged to significantly increase the volume of trade and economic cooperation. At thesame time the thesis has tried to figure out the negative aspects and threat that has arisenin Kazakhstan side because of heavily depended on consuming Chinese products andnot developing the self-sustainable producing and manufacturing culture. |
