With the development of economy and the increasing intensive market competition, the market requires the suppliers have the abilities to supply tailored parts with better quality and lower price. In order to obtain competition advantages, the manufacturers must be customer-focused, and re-engineer their production planning and controlling system to meet the market’s requirements.Manufacturing resources planning (MRP Ⅱ) and JIT are widely employed two different production planning and controlling systems, and the two different systems played and also are playing a very important impact on the economic development, and also the two systems have their inherent disadvantages. In order to take advantage of their advantages, the enterprises and researchers began to consider the possibilities to integrate the two systems together. In the MRP Ⅱ/JIT hybrid system, MRP II is responsible for the planning of materials and production scheduling; and JIT is responsible for the implementing and controlling the production orders in the workshop level. Through the application of MRP Ⅱ/JIT hybrid model, the company has the increasing abilities to meet the customers’ custom parts requirements, and also can minimize the operating expense simultaneously maximize the operating revenues. On the basis of studying the advantages of MRP Ⅱ/JIT hybrid system, this thesis analyzes the existing issues in X metal products company in details, in which the MRP Ⅱ is being used. This thesis also puts forward with the solutions to solve the existing issues and also introduces how to apply the hybrid system in X Company.
