The development and application of Internet has accelerated the progress of the virtualcommunity. Many people has involved in the virtual community, which become essentialactivities in their life and work. Virtual community has a completely open whose users comefrom all levels of society, so the information in it is also varied, which should be shared andreused as knowledge through further processing. The person in virtual community hasdifferent background, so the information that they release may has different semantic, whichneed a unified framework or specification model to represent or organize the knowledge tomake the users can be understand the concepts and communicate with each other. Ontology isthe model of concepts, which can express and query knowledge effectively. Ontology canpromote knowledge sharing, then these knowledge can be applied to solve practical problems. On the basis of analyzing several ontology construction methods, the study put forward themass-participated method of ontology construction according to the characteristics of thevirtual community. The paper has analysis the characteristics of the ontology constructionmethod and the process of ontology construction. Virtual community based on the ontologycan regulate the diversity of knowledge, information, realize the knowledge sharing andreuse. The information in the virtual community is messy, the environment of knowledge use isbad, so it puts forward a model of knowledge organization which integrates theknowledge flow between different users. The model can speed up the knowledgetransformation, knowledge innovation and the development of virtual community. At last, thepaper chooses the RenRen as an example to study the Ontology Construction process, so thisstudy can be better understand.
