Along with the vigorous development of service trade in the global scope, theresearchers gradually pay attention to theoretical and empirical research on the levelof trade of international service industry. In recent years, the international tourismindustry has made prominent performance and become the main driving force of thedevelopment of the tertiary industry. Based on the traditional intra-industry tradetheory and combined with the international tourism industry’s own characteristics, thispaper will analyze the main factors that affect the level of trade of the internationaltourism industry. On the basis of the results of empirical econometric model, I try toput forward suggestions for promoting the development of the international tourismindustry.From the beginning of the thesis, it describes the summary and evaluation ofrelated domestic and foreign literatures available, then it confirms what are theinnovations and shortcomings. Then it introduces some related theories, including thedefinition of the concept of international tourism industry and inter-industry trade,intra-industry trade causes, as well as services intra-industry trade effect. Next, itdescribes the development status of China and the United States International TravelService industry, analysis and evaluation of the bilateral international tourismdevelopment. From the static and dynamic angles are measured respectively on thelevel of the international tourism industry using the G-L index and MIIT index. Afterthat is the key part of the article, it is mainly in accordance with the modelconstruction, empirical process and results analysis order, in the process of modelbuilding, with the G-L index as the measure for the level of trade variables within theindustry are introduced into the index, per capita income difference (AGDP), the sizeof the market difference (ASIZE), intensity of trade in goods (TCD), service tradeopenness (OP), foreign direct investment (FDI), the difference of air transport quality(ATRAN), trade imbalance (DMM), the seven factors as variables. Then, using theleast squares estimate method (O-L) and Eviews6.0software to make the regressionof the8time series data. Return to the results of statistical tests, the randominterference autocorrelation test and the unit root test, try to make cointegration test.Due to the small sample variable constraints, which can not be used to test long-termequilibrium, but the result is of some significance. The empirical results show that,per capita income difference (AGDP), service trade openness (OP) as well as tradeimbalance (DMM) was negatively correlated with the level of trade between Chinaand the United States international tourism industry, market scale difference (ASIZE)and foreign direct investment (FDI) from the United States was positively associatedwith trade and international tourism industry. Finally, it will summarize the theoreticaland empirical research, draw the following conclusions: China and the United Statesof America are the international tourism service trade powers; Bilateral tourismservice trade volume is large, but the development is not balanced, China has longbeen a trade deficit, and the balance of trade in recent years continued to increase; International Travel Service Industry of China and US is fluctuation; InternationalTravel Service Industry between China and the United States has prospects for thedevelopment. Finally, it puts forward four suggestions to promote the development ofthe international tourism service trade.
