Studies On The Rural Industrial Structure Adjustment Of Shouguang

Since the founding of P.R.C., the development of its rural economy was in a backwardposition compared with the urban economy, and the industrial structure in rural areas there arealso many problems. The adjustment of industrial structure in rural areas will play animportant role during the process of building a new socialist countryside and ruraldevelopment and prosperity.For the purpose of optimizing the existing rural structure and promoting the local ruraleconomic and farmers’ incomes, this article use indicators such as relative labor productivity,unit acreage output, comparative scale index to analysis the change trends and currentsituation of Shouguang and compare with the situation in the whole country. Base on that,some rural structural adjustment policies were proposed according to the status andcharacteristics of rural industrial structure in Shouguang.The main content of this article is organized as follows: Chapter1proposed the researchbackground, significance, and also provide a brief statement of research ideas and the basicsituation of Shouguang City; In Chapter2some definitions were given, as well as sometheories about the rural industrial structure adjustment both at home and abroad and also someexperiences of the rural industrial structure adjustment in some developed countries. The thirdchapter is the core of this paper, by analysis the current situation of industrial structure inShouguang, advantages and problems was summarized in this part. Chapter4and5respectively introduced the principles to be followed in the rural industrial structureadjustment process and some measures should be taken in the future.Through the research we found the current rural industrial structure of Shouguang hasthe following problems:1, Proportion of farming is too large, and the center of gravity of thewhole industry is very low.2, Food production has been guaranteed, but the comparativeadvantage of farming has not been fully used.3, Agriculture with specialties has shown signsof effectiveness, but some supporting industries related need to be developed.4, Thedevelopment of competitive industries were restricted because the low level of industryrelated degree.5, Industries developing in disorders result inefficient. Combined with theactual situation of the Shouguang principles of basing on local characteristics and national industrial planning, satisfying the needs of the community, sustainable development, relyingon scientific and technological progress, strengthening the industry association and providingmore jobs for the local famers should be followed in the adjustment. And developingvegetables with high quality to obtain absolutely advantage, alternative cotton to oil crops,accurately positioning the function of forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries, developingrural industries focus especially agro-processing industries vigorously, the development thethird industry in rural areas, accelerating the development of small towns process, makingpolicies which helps to promote the rural industrial structure adjustment process will bemeasures should be taken in the future.
