With the advent of economic globalization, Chinese enterprises, especially small businesses, are faced with fiercer competitions. In order to gain greater advantage over the opponents, an enterprise must pay special attention to the talent competition, focus on talent management and enterprise performance management as well. But more importantly, the most important task for an enterprise is to find a suitable theory of performance management and to achieve the best combination of the theory and the practice.Based on the theory of modern enterprise performance management and the first-hand information of X enterprise, starting from SME performance management theory, this paper tries to analyze the deficiencies of performance management of X enterprise, and then to promote the performance management and development of countermeasures, hoping to provide a reference for other enterprises.The first part of this paper, is about the background, purpose of the research and the review both at home and abroad, as well as the content and technology of the research, with possible research innovation and insufficiency; the second part states the enterprise performance management theory; the third part gives a brief introduction to the development background and performance management status quo of X business and a summary of performance management, and analyzes the factors that affect the performance; Part IV briefly describes the process of establishing performance management system in X Enterprise. Taking into consideration various factors and its own status quo, X enterprise establishes a corporate performance management system. Part V is about the implementation and protection of Performance Management System in X Enterprise; and Part Ⅵ, is the conclusion and revelation.This paper is characterized by the application of basic research,with the theoretical significance of trying to improve performance management theory, enriching the performance management system for SMEs in China. Its practical significance is studying the effectiveness of the X enterprise’s performance management, and designing a more feasible performance management system, thus providing a reference for SMEs.
