China has always been the big country of fat and oils consumption, however, since agricultural markets open to the world and joining into WTO, multinational grain and Oil companies has preempted quickly grease oil market in our country, which leaded to our country edible oil increasing external dependency year after year, result in the edible vegetable oil market is controlled by foreign oil giants in China. This is not only a serious challenge to our country’s food security but also a tough competition and survival crisis to many oil companies in our country.From the angle of domestic oil enterprises, this paper aims to study China’s edible oil how to respond to foreign capital monopoly and improve the competitiveness, so as to maintain safety of edible oil industry of China, so the article is full of theoretical significance and practical significance. This study innovatively use enterprise strategic management theory and the industrial chain from the analysis to put forward countermeasures.Firstly this thesis will discuss foreign oil giants’monopoly in the market of China’s edible oil industry, from oil trade, oil processing and market in China,and then it will analyse the external environment of domestic edible oil enterprises including macro environment, industry environment and competitive environment, and an empirical analysis of the internal environment of a public limited oil company-Dongling Liangyou.The study found that China’s oil industry has stepped into mature period and the competition pattern of foreign and state-owned monopoly, but it was facing foreign capital monopoly tendency, but the competition ability of national edible oil enterprises was weak. Finally on the basis of SWOT analysis, combination with the present situation of China’s edible oil industry and companies’ practical experience, at last three aspects of strategic choices including company strategy, competition strategy and internationalization strategy will be put from the micro level layer for national oil enterprises.
