Nowadays, development of the enterprise is not only limited in a country or state,more and more enterprises are on the way to globalization. There are many factors needto be considered when establishing global strategy. In this thesis, key topic is focused onGlobal Sourcing Strategy of Company "G" in China. Company "G" is a medicalequipment manufacturing company headquartered in Sweden, and with13factories indifferent countries all over the world. So how to control final composite cost becomesvery important to companies’ profit. Company "G" establishes Global StrategicSourcing Operation Center (GSSOC) in China, Which effectively reduces the cost ofprocurement, controls procurement risk and shortens the procurement process. Thisoperation center includes only20employees, but saves tens of millions RMB onprocurement cost. Company "G"’s GSSOC includes strategic sourcing department andoperation department. Strategic sourcing department contains all strategicfunctionalities as understanding manufacture status/procedure of machines, alsoincludes market conditions, cost price and latest technology information from R&Ddepartment. While for operation department, it contains quality audit, inspection,warehousing, logistics and other functions. Perfectly cooperating with the twodepartments, Company "G" has successfully executed many new projects development.The thesis starts from procurement definition, analyzes the important role ofprocurement in the supply chain, followed with introduction of integrated management.Then analyze the difference between traditional procurement model and integratedmodel. Using Company "G" as example, based on data investigated from GSSOCcentral marketing department, production department and after sale department, thisthesis is focused on Company "G"’s GSSOC, and analyzes work processes of operationcenter. Then summarize the way of combining integrated management model andstrategic procurement with operation center. Both global manufacturing enterprises andprivate manufacturing enterprises should consider within a company, each departmentneeds to work closely with others, and build up suitable manage model. I think there is alot of learning from Company "G", so I picked some views and made summary for other enterprises’ reference.
