| Under the rapid development of urban railway system, Chengdu CSR Tunneling Equipments Company (CSR) is facing numerous opportunities and challenges, thus it is vital for CSR to work out a best-fit strategy. This article analyzed and compared the relative strategic management theories, provided a comprehensive analysis of manufactures in this industry both at home and abroad. It also summarized the pre-market condition and predicted the future market trends. Under the consideration of national policy, local economy, industrial structure and competitive power the author designed the best development strategy for CSR.Firstly, this article expounded the market capacity, industry structure and market supervision in the field of tunnel boring machine(TBM) industry, and pointed out some problems the industry is facing currently. Through some analysis of relative strategic management theories it forecasted the future development trends. Secondly, the article represented some analysis of the domestic market demand, by which the author find that the government is scaling up the construction of long railway, subway and city rail, the in construction and proposed transportation network is expanding and TBM industry has a bright future. However, comparing the domestic companies’technology level and market shares with foreign companies’it is not hard to find that the high ended-products and technology is controlled by foreign companies. Most domestic manufactures performed poorly in this field mainly because they lack intellectual property rights. To encourage the development of local companies, Chinese government abolished the preferential policy of import tax for whole machine imports which supported domestic independent innovation; enhanced originality for local enterprises and helped to realize TBM localization. For CSR this is a good exterior term. Finally, the author performed an analysis on human resource, economy and market brands in this field and illustrated the advantages and disadvantages of CSR through the application of SWOT theory. The development strategy for CSR will be: absorption, assimilation and re-innovation of imported technologies, gradually command core technique, form a self-development capability and promote localization. Collaborate with domestic engineering machinery construction group and develop into a large corporation with major products of TBM, ancillary products of EPB shield and complementary products of construction machinery. Yet there are some problems to be resolved in production scales, quality control, and executive capability and technology innovations. Aimed to these problems the author advance that strategic plan can be realized by the change of production mode, strengthen of quality management, improvement of capital utilization, perfection of the enterprise culture construction and closer cooperation with renowned companies. |
