Mpact Study Of Recreational Greenways Based On Residents’ And Tourists’Perception Perspective

With multi-functions of ecological protection, life quality improvement and economic development, greenway has been popular in Europe and America for a long time. China comes to realize the importance of greenway construction in recent years. Guangdong Province took the lead in the Pearl River Delta region to carry out the exploration of the greenway, which arouses public attention. Hangzhou also put forward "Three Rivers" greenway construction projects in2011, and completed the greenway planning in March2012. The planned Three greenway of Rivers covers the waterside areas of the Xin’an River, Fuchun River and Qiantang River within the territory of Hangzhou, going through Fuchun River-Xin’an River National Scenic Area, Westlake National Scenic Area, Chunan Thousand Islands Scenic Area, connecting many scenic spots and rural villages. Tourists are supposed to be the major objective users, also including local residents.As the demonstration place of "Three Rivers" greenway, Tonglu County is located in the central part of Fuchun River-Xin’an River national scenic area. This paper took Tonglu County greenway demonstration project as a study site, and defined it as "Recreational Greenway". In this paper, the comprehensive impact assessment of Tonglu County recreational greenway is conducted, with both qualitative and quantitative approaches, providding some theoretical basis for investment decision-making of greenway projects.This paper begins with spatial analysis, using GIS tools to analyze the Tonglu County’s current land use and greenway construction plan.The accessibility of Tonglu greenway is analyzed with cost-weighted distance method to verify the effectiveness of its connection to waterfront green space or parks and tourist attractions, so as to illustrate the appropriateness and objectivity of greenway planning from the perspective of spatial analysis. The analysis results show that the greenway planning exerts the linkage impact on recreation activities of local residents and tourists, and has great space linkage effects on the rural communities along greenway. A questionnaire investigation is carried out based on the social exchange theory aiming at the residents and tourists of the Tonglu, so as to investigate the degree of cognitive needs of greenway function on the part of residents and tourists, residents’ perceived greenway impact from the perspective of the subjective and objective perspectives, degree of the greenways attraction to tourists, and residents’and tourists’attitude and expectation towards using of the greenway.Through statistical analysis of the potential uses of the residents and tourists and their expectation of greenway impact on property value and ecological environment, the greenway impact on economy, tourism, real estate value is prodicted; Structural equation model is used to analyze the correlationship between residents cognitive function on greenway, greenway functional requirements and the attitude of uses. The relativity is analyzed among such elements as tourists’cognition about greenway function, greenway functional needs, the perception of greenway attractiveness and their attitude toward usage. Models of residents’and visitors’ perception of greenway impact are established based on above analysis.
