In the Radar system of the airplane, based on the consideration of aerodynamicsand stealth characteristics, it’s a highly necessity for the Antenna Array to be perfectlyconform with the plane surface. Generally speaking, a Radar can cover its profile planesnot its fore-and-aft planes. Therefore,“the integration of the radar and platform”becomes a research hotspot in the field. The planar end-fire antenna is characterizedwith low-profile and pencil beam radiation. It can be used for making up the blind pointof the airplane Radar system, and can also meet the challenge of “the integration of theradar and platform”, and the end-fire array antenna performs perfectly in both civilianand military.The paper proposed a series of new thoughts and designs, including transformedprinted dipole, cambered feed ground plane, series-wound feeding network for end-firearray and design of plane scanning based on sub-array division. Finally, we proposed aplanar end-fire antenna with high gain and wide scanning angles, which will be a goodreference for further research. |
