The fusing between point cloud and various images plays an important role invaried areas. But most of fusion system need to be calibrated at a particular experimentenvironment which is very complex. To solve this problem, this paper conducted aseries of research.Based on the analysis of research of the theories about the fusion of the imagesfrom the LADAR and the camera, this paper discusses the principle of LADAR, themodel of the camera and system calibration. Then this paper proposes a calibrationalgorithm based on Scale Invariant Feature Transformation (SIFT). By transforming thematch between the images into the match between the eigenvectors, this algorithmavoids the complex calibration experiment when accuracy is improved. At last, thispaper fuses the images from the LADAR and the camera, the result is expected whichverifies the algorithm.
