Powder as raw material, medium appeared in the aspects of production,environmental protection, food production and chemical products, It has the vitalsignificance. Through the detection of lots of powder particles, master the characteristicscan improve the utilization rate of resources and reduce the waste of resources. By now,particle size analysis instrument for powder particles in image acquisition mostly usingarea array camera and lens structure on the market. Low resolution images were collectedin this way. This will cause the analysis of particle detection accuracy is not accurate.Using this structure can only capture a little number of particles, it can rarely analysis partof a large number of samples, and analysis the grain size parameter of the particles is notthe most accurate. At the same time, the image acquisition device uses the Ethernet cableto connect to the PC and analysis the images in PC. This method will separate the imageacquisition from the analysis. Do not constitute a complete grain size analysis device.This paper through to research samples, experimental environment, industry demandputs forward the design requirements. First, choose the diameter of the powder particlesamples are from50um to500um. Second, because of samples’ quality is2kg and theyhave small grain quality and quantity, we need to use a quick and efficient samplingmethod to acquire images; Finally,in order to make particles test results accurate andreliable, minimize the error of film image, the visual detection accuracy is demand to atleast0.03mm.The design of the system is divided into hardware design and software design. Thehardware design mainly divided into two aspects: the design of the optical system. Thisaspect mainly designs the strip light source. Through the analysis of the parameters of linearray CCD camera and the array CCD camera and compared with results images whichthese two cameras collect, finally selects the line CCD array camera and micro lens forimage acquisition; Hardware circuit analysis. This aspect mainly analysis the networkinterface and VP interface of DSP. Software design mainly configure the VP module,GPIO module and network interface module of the DSP, Through the analysis of GVCP protocol realized with the camera registers configuration,the network driver writing makesDSP control the camera for the purpose of image acquisition.This paper completed the design, installation and debugging of the whole system,using line array CCD camera solve the problems which are low image resolution and smallview field of using array CCD camera. Small view field leads small number of particlescan be taken by array CCD camera. The system uses DSP processor with linear arraycamera and lens for automatic control of image acquisition. Visual detection accuracy canreach0.02mm,.Detection range is between50to500um. The system has the characteristicsof high precision, high efficiency; meet the requirements of powder particle diameterdetection on image quality.
